Russ and Shelby's Engagement Shots

Shelby and I had been planning this shoot for a while. She was so sweet and excited and I can only hope to meet her expectations. They were so easy going and Russ for being a guy (men hate pics) did SO well. I got wet from my bum down. I had to go to dinner with my friends afterwards and to a movie and I think I got a cold from it. Sad. But so worth it!

What a lovely couple! Your photos have a magical quality. Love the lighting in the sepia one.

I'm no expert, but I think one of the best things about your style are the two types of images you bring to life. Both are equally important and without both, it wouldn't be "you".

The first kind is the highly stylized fantasy/glamor type, where you push the edge while maintaining great taste and artistic value. It shows people as they want to see themselves, but more important it shows the beauty you see in them that maybe they don't even see. Not only that, it's fun, it's sexy, and it's art.

I don't think the stylistic ones are the ones that really capture the memories for your subjects, though. Look at the ones with her arms around his neck--they are beautiful images, wonderfully composed, but without the actions, the angles, etc.--just two beautiful people in a lovely setting, beaming with happiness and romance. I think these will be the ones they look back on for the memories. While they are more traditional, they aren't your typical portrait fare, because again, you see their beauty and feel their love for each other, and it shows in every image.

I am confused with the first comment. Is it a compliment or sarcastically disagreeing with your work? I love the pictures! It looks like it was freazing... I hope the couple loves them because they are beautiful.
